What a wonderful story about your mom. I appreciate that you didn’t gloss over the hard spots of her life (and your own). A story well-told has many sides and several angles. We are not round, but pointy shapes of many facets.

I’m glad you had some time with your mom and discovered new sides to her as time went on. I also marvel at the difference in how education was viewed back when our parents and especially grandparents where young. Learning was something you did everywhere, not just in school.
