Thanks, Emma! I must admit that occasionally I get a little prickle of unhappy when I smile and wave and acknowledge another human and they look down or turn away. So I know how you feel.

Just like you said, I get that for some people it’s weirdly uncomfortable, like I might as for a kidney or something instead of just a friendly nod. But I can’t help trying to connect. Niceness is as much a gift I give to myself as much as it is something that might be a good thing for others.
