Thank you so much for sharing this. I don’t suffer from depression myself, but I do know several close friends and family who do. It makes absolute sense that sad music would be the bridge to feeling better. Like when I can’t sleep and I clench all my muscles up then release them. The conscious effort helps my body become aware of the unconscious clenching it’s holding on to. I don’t know if that’s a perfect analogy, but that’s what your article brought to mind for me.

I sent this to a friend. I’m hoping she and I can talk about it if and when she ever wants to.
