My parents did share their political views with me. And while still under their roof, I fell in line. They weren’t mean about it, just sharing themselves. But, now, I am the only one in the family with a different set of beliefs. It’s very difficult at times. But, the truth is, we are ultimately more alike than different and it takes work to keep trying to understand how or why another person feels as they do. But, I know I must. I challenge myself as much or more as I challenge my family when we disagree.

But, I agree with you wholeheartedly on young children. I know I’ve sinned in this area. I try and explain why I think as I do and ask him his thoughts. But ultimately, is that the right thing to do? I suppose time will tell.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
