Absolutely! I have shared my “shitty first draft” before and for exactly the reasons you mention. But the truth is, patience is key — and not exhausting would-be readers wastes valuable energy. Even friends or editors that LOVE you won’t love reading draft after draft of a WiP. It’s a matter of cost benefit analysis. Such good advice to resist the impulse!
